THE IMPORTANCE OF PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE

Portuguese being the most important language of international communication, it is currently the fifth most spoken language in the world and an official language of Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor. 
It is commonly used in Macau, territory under Portuguese administration until 1999, and in Goa (India). 
It is also the base of around twenty Creole languages and an important minority language in countries such as Andorra, Luxemburg, Namibia, Switzerland and South Africa, due to the numerous Portuguese communities in those countries. 
Its offers lot of job opportunities to its learners. The demand for Portuguese language professionals in various industries is spectacular, qualified translators and interpreters are playing a major role in the global business and international relations.
 

What is PLA?

Portuguese Lingua de Acolhimento or named Portuguese language course "A welcoming Language" is a certify levels A1 + A2 (Elementary User) and B1 + B2 (Independent User), according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

This course is aimed to young people and adults which Portuguese in not their mother tongue as an effective learning not only about the language but also Portuguese culture & custom as effective and transformative and constituting a decisive instrument for social integration, civic and labor market. 

It is also indispensable for submitting applications for Portuguese nationality, permanent residence permits and long-term resident status.

a) Proof that the procedure for extending the stay in national territory or for granting or renewing a residence permit has been initiated.

b) Proof of submission of an application for international protection or temporary protection.

c) Proof of the Social Security Identification Number (NISS).
